S4 Epi 3 If you Love me Why I am Dyin'?

Jason is being kept alive by Crystal as a potential werepanther breeder. Pam asks Sookie to hide Eric from the witches, and she reluctantly agrees. Sookie visits Alcide, now living in Shreveport with Debbie, and asks him to house Eric for her. Debbie tells Sookie she wants to make amends for trying to kill her. Andy, high on V, gets into an altercation with Sam outside Merlotte's. Portia Bellefleur has a sexual proposition for Bill. Jessica confesses to Hoyt that she has fed on another man and then glamours him into forgetting about it. Jessica gives Arlene's baby the creepy doll that keeps showing up in their apartment. Lafayette goes to Fangtasia to beg forgiveness from Eric; Tara and Jesus follow him and find Pam threatening him in the dungeon basement. Pam demands that they bring back Marnie, the witch leader, to Fangtasia within 24 hours. Marnie performs a ritual for the spirit to posses her body so that she may be an instrument of its power. Jason wakes to find Crystal raping him, while other female werepanthers are watching or waiting their turn. Tommy forges a scheme to defraud Maxine Fortenberry. Claudine shows up at Sookie's house and tells her to return to the fairy realm. Sookie refuses; Eric attacks Claudine and drinks her to death.

Pam was great again this episode, I really am enjoying seeing more of her this season.

Loved this scene at Fangtasia, I really hope that they help Pam out. Not that I would really miss Tara or Jesus at this point...but I want LaLa to be safe and stick around!

This jacket is amazing, the costuming department has done a great job so far this season if you ask me.


Poor Jason, I wonder who is going to help him out of this situation. Do you think Andy will sober up enough to try and find him? Besides Andy has anyone even noticed he was missing yet, I know it hasn't been long but I imagine Sookie should at least start to wonder by now... Lets hope that Mexican Viagra works better then what happened with the V incident LOL , but seriously I fear that Felton will try to kill him once his "breeding services" are done.

Speaking of Sheriff Andy... wow he needs to get his shit together and kick this V habit.

Loved the Jessica Bill scene...

Not happy that Jess glamored Hoyt, makes me believe even more that they need to go separate ways. The creepy doll is back, and whats up with giving the thing to Arlenes creepy baby? This is not going to be good if you ask me!

I find myself not really caring much about Sam and Tommy, other then I really hope Tommy doesn't try to screw over Maxine. Yes she is using him to replace Hoyt, but she has helped him out more then anyone else at this point (not counting Sam's attempt last year, but I think that got thrown out the window when he shot Tommy)... hell she even got the kid reading! Adore Belle

Not liking sober Debbie, I want the crazy one back... I'm sure she will be at some point. Glad to see Sookie doesn't buy it. Kinda pissed me off that she tried to pawn Eric off on Alcide.

OK thats enough of trying to collect my thoughts on this episode, I should watch it again. Can't wait to read others opinions!

Well, Raki, honey, I more or less agree with you, I am very happy to see Pam involved and and I am tickled to death to see Eric being sort of sad and funny at the same time, though I would not have screeched like a harpy when he stepped on the rug, I mean, it is just a little dirt, the vacuum would have cleaned it up.

Yeah, I really feel sorry for Jason, as me and Fairy and Renee chatted last night, it was really like he was being gang raped...terrible thing for Jason.

And yeah, I don't care at all for show Claudine, but I sorta wonder, was that Claudine? Or was it a fae wearing a glamour to trick Sookie? Inquiring minds wanna know. I wonder how or if Claude will come into the picture...

And Alcide? Ewww, but we knew he went back with Debbie so I wonder if we will see her being abjured somewhere down the line?

OK this is a bit random and off topic... but I am in LOVE LOVE LOVE with Bill's wallpaper in his new office. So if anyone should come across any info in regards to where are person may purchase it or something close I'd really appreciate it. It may sound crazy but I'm keeping my eyes open for any article in regards to the set design in hopes that someone might post info on it. I mean if people can track down the exact clothing items that are used in some episodes, why not wallpaper LOL

I'm really enjoying this season, it's got the first season vibe.

TB writers have been saying this and it's true, most of the characters are playing a different versions of themselves and my favorite is Eric. He's like a lost little puppy following Sookie around. It's really cute. Don't worry girls, I have not converted to Eric's side but I can still enjoy what's going on with his character. I am not too happy what he did to Claudine. Though that cute boyish look almost made up for it. I'm not really convinced she was all bad, she's just trying to protect Sookie. Let's face it, too much s*** happens to her for Claudine to want to force her to go. Of course, Sookie didn't want to go and I don't blame her. I just think there's more to the fae story and it's sad Claudine is gone now and can't explain. We are going to meet Claude at some point so I'm curious how that'll go.

I really loved the interaction between Bill and Jessica. I had wondered how their relationship was now that she was out of the house and he's the King. You don't see too many vampires hugging and holding hands. Bill has softened up with his own and I love it. Why the girl doesn't develop an insane crush on him is beyond me (jk).

Now that Portia and Bill have hit the sack, I wonder if they're still going to do the family line story. If they do, ewww.

I almost didn't recognize Debbie. Sookie really should have read her mind when they hugged. Missed opportunity, but Sookie is smart and knows Debbie should never be trusted. I bet Alcide is kicking himself, he still has it for Sookie.

Andy addicted to V is kind of the same storyline of Andy being a drunk. I wish they could do more with his character because he really is fantastic to watch. I just can't help but think they do the same things to him. I hope he snaps out of it but it'll take a while.

What's happening to Jason is really uncomfortable. I know Crystal is on V, but damn! Does he really need to get taken advantage of? I feel so sorry for him. I wonder how long it will take for Sookie to notice he's gone missing. He needs to be found fast.

I also am concerned about Jason. I mean, it looks like he might actually be dying, and the Hotshot Folk just think he's shifting because it fits into their mythology. Also, it looks as though ALL of the Hotshot women are going to mate with Jason. They were all lined up, and one of them looked like she brought flowers for him. Although the Hotshot Folk are really creepy, I really enjoy watching them and their storyline, so I am glad it isn't over yet. I really hope Jason doesn't die, gets out of this alive, and in my opinion, it would be really cool if he was a were-panther.

As for Claudine, I am not convinced she's actually "dead" in the sense that we understand it (for that matter, I don't believe Grandpa Earl is gone either). The reason is, that when the fae nearly died out before, they were native to THIS plane, and now they are native to a different plane, almost projecting themselves to any other plane that they visit from Faeryland. Now, I think that for Grandpa Earl it has more to do with the fact that legend has it that you cannot leave Faeryland if you have eaten their food. He left, and dissolved and probably returned there as he is now native to that plane. But...and it's a big but, the show has not exactly been on par with real-world mythology in the past so Claudine could be very dead (as well as Grandpa Earl). In that case, I think it's probably a good thing. Not only do these fae seriously have an ulterior motive but I am getting sick and tired of Sookie being protected by other people. Sure, she probably would have died if she hadn't, but the fewer people that are trying to protect her, the better chance she has at actually womaning up to her own powers and protecting herself. I don't want to see another season of her flip-flopping between being empowered and then a damsel in distress (who gets pissy when someone tries to help her!!!).

Marnie is seriously playing some bad games. The kinds of oaths she is making can get one into a lot of trouble, full trust, full service, means that all that you do will be against your own will--unless your will is aligned with the universe and most people's are not. I get the impression that the woman in the mirror is a Mother Goddess figure (mostly because she was wearing that mueslin gown and looked all Neolithic), and likely such a being would be anti-evil and against vampires. But as Jesus said, if your soul is dark, you practice black magic. And I get the feeling that Marnie has such a soul--even though she's working with your Mother Goddess (more commonly a compassionate creature, but also quite fiesty if people are destroying her children...nature or people).

Which reminds me, I think that nature is going to be a very important theme this season. When the Hotshot Folk were talking about it around the fire, plus this possible Mother Goddess, plus the ongoing "nature" of vampires and shifters. I think it might be very important this season. The witches' religion centres around revering nature. I am pretty certain that Lafayette and Jesus are probably good witches and along with Katarina will probably be magic heroes by the end of the season (I hope).

Why did Pam tell Sookie not to tell Bill about Eric? I think this was the biggest mistake, and I just think that Pam's comment is going to cause this entire plot to spiral out of control. Bill could probably do something about it NOW, but Marnie's amassing more power and it's just going to get more difficult as the season goes on. I mean, I realize she's trying to protect Eric, but the problem of the witches really goes beyond Eric.

As for Jessica giving Arlene's baby the doll, I think she probably thinks, "but what could be worse than a vampire", and doesn't think about the potential of a ghost or what have you. I think this is going to make Arlene more paranoid, because the baby is probably just a normal baby, but that doll sure isn't a normal doll and weird stuff is going to be happening and Arlene is going to blame the baby and not the doll.

Sam and Tommy are kind of bothering me a bit. I'm sure they are actually meaning to (the writers I mean), since it's leading up to some intense sortof climax, but for now, I just can't stand their bickering and Sam trying to be all parental, and Tommy still just being a bad boy. Jessica also, is being a bad girl. Bill foreshadowed Hoyt finding out (probably through Sookie), so Jessica shouldn't have glamoured him. Bad move.

And...Bill sexing it up with Portia, well...that surprised me...and maybe others for those that have read the books. Do you think that's why he didn't drink her blood...Don't answer, we should talk about that in spoilers!

Considering what happened last year why wouldn't Pam distrust Bill? I'm assuming that right now Eric is her only concern, not what Marnie could potentially do. I also believe that Pam cares enough for Eric that she would go to Bill, if she believed he would help. I'm not trying to say he would or wouldn't... I just don't think Pam believes he would, King or not.

No, for sure, but I still think it's the flashpoint of the entire season going downhill from here. Like, if she had said the opposite, ie, "go to Bill", than we wouldn't have a story. That's all I was saying. Sure she distrusts Bill, but it's to a fault, and she'll probably get in trouble for it (and not just from Bill, but Eric too, maybe, once he "comes to").

These are just samples of the style, not the color, the first an Iron Scroll and Lattice design, the other is a Classic Elements sort of look...so even if they don't have the exact look you at least know what sort of styles to ask about when you hit the wall paper stores....And you would likely find this in a wall paper store, not at walmart or places like that....

Poor Hoyt, but I still stand by the fact that Jessica really shouldn't be committed to anyone during her baby vamp stage. It is completely unfair to ask her to be. I am surprised that none of the older vampires haven't advised her about this.

I think Pam was correct in keeping Eric's state a secret. Since what Bill did to Eric last season I don't trust Bill.

I can't wait to find out who the woman was that possessed Marnie. And what the hell was she talking about unprovoked attack? Those fools were talking about bringing back a dead person. Did they really believe they could do that without any repercussions, especially from the vampires?

What was with the waiter trying to listen in on Bill while he was calling Eric? I'm thinking it's because he's the King and he was curious, but still kind of odd.

I have to really wonder if they are even going to go with Bill and Portia being related. I bet this is going to be another deviation from the book. However, even if it does turn out they are related it will be interesting. I mean, its not like either of them obviously know. Would Eric know ALL of his relations after 1000 years? I think not and if you live long enough it would be a plausible situation to find yourself in. My money is on them going a different route with the whole story line all together, but if they dont, then I think it will be interesting to see it play out. Its True Blood. With all the blood, sex, and gore, they really go for the shock value, so as veiwers, we just roll with it.

And yes Violet, I am glad you brought up that waiter. Was it just me who wanted to slap him like some natty bug and tell him to get away? Nosy bastard. I hope Bill stiffed him on the tip.

I have a theory on why Bill did not drink Portia....I think he may suspect her of trying to set him up...that is why he did not feed from her. I certainly would suspect her since "she'd thought everything out" so carefully.

Frankly, I'm surprised that the Bellefleurs haven't figured out their kenship to Bill through Caroline, especially since Bill is dedicating the retirement home to her. Since they are such an old family and have been in Bon Temps for so many generations, wouldn't they know they are descendants? I suppose Andy and Portia haven't researched their family tree beyond their mother. Very odd. Anyway, I wonder if Bill didn't feed on Portia because for some reason he doesn't trust her.

I am really loving this season! It is fresh and Eric is just adorable! AND this episode I got to see Alcide LOL...no seriously. I like where everything is going. I love Eric in his sweet and innocent look, knowing what he is capable of...Pam being ferocious and protective over her maker. Sookie is Sookie but I have to say, not quite so annoying dumb this season. I am curious to see where it goes with Jason. Chuck and I decided to stay spoiler free so I am completely clueless and I am anticipating the next episode greatly!!!

I'm totally late, we were out of town. I hated seeing Debbie and Alcide all cozy comfy!! ICK! I, too, think something was up with that nosey waiter, he lingered and lingered-weird. I guess I missed that the home was dedicated to Caroline B. I thought it was Caroline Compton! DUH! I haven't rewatched yet.
