I can't imagine Hinton writing a vampire novel. For years I loved teaching The Outsiders to my language arts students. Hopefully her writing matured and she learned to correct her habit of run-on sentences. I always attributed that flaw to her youth and inexperience as a writer, but my students always loved the characters and the story she told.
