Development Status: The new adventures of ol' Reed Richards was rumored to be titled F4: Reborn, but now according to ScreenRant.com, that title is out and actors Adrien Brody and Jonathan Rhys Meyers are rumored for the role of Mr. Fantastic. And former Emma Frost candidate, Alive Eve, is rumored to be up for the role of Sue Storm in the reboot.

The Human Torch and Doctor Doom also have rumored contenders in the running for those respective roles. True Blood's Stephen Moyer, who plays vampire Bill Compton on the HBO series, is up for the role of Latverian despot Victor Von Doom. The site claims an "offer is currently out" to the actor, and that "Doom will be showcased as the ruler of Latveria and a master of the mystic arts" in the film. Model-turned-90210 actor Kevin Pennington is the front runner to play Johnny Storm.

Bruce Willis and Kiefer Sutherland are rumored to be on the short-list to voice the all-CG version of The Thing.

Who does Fox want to direct the film? At the top of their wish list are: Joe Carnahan, Harry Potter's David Yates and James McTeigue. This F4 movie is the first salvo to come in the wake of Disney-Marvel came from 20th Century Fox, as the studio confirmed rumors from earlier this year that Marvel's First Family will get exposed to hopefully beneficial reboot rays. Who will spearhead the project? Oscar-winning scribe and Fringe writer and executive producer Akiva Goldsman. You might remember him from such nipplefests as Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.

Variety reports that Fox has also set Heroes and Green Lantern scribe Michael Green to pen the screenplay.
