Local Man Hits it Big

Sam Merlotte owner of the ever popular hot spot Merlottes here in Bons Temps has hit the big time with the development of a line of dog treats he calls My Best Friend.

Local people have been raving about how much their canine companions enjoy the terrific tidbits for some time, that when they came to the attention of Mary Ann Forrester, a founding member of Pets Are People Too she decided that they were too delicious not to share.

“It’s not only dogs who love these treats,” Ms. Forrester says as she sits in the beautifully appointed garden of her Louisiana estate “my precious piglet Daphne just adores them, she wiggles her little rump whenever she sees the package. Mr. Merlotte definitely knows his animals and what they like in a treat. I sent a sample of them to our head office and the rest, as they say, is history. In a very short time these treats will make him a very wealthy man.”

Mr. Merlotte could not be reached for comment, he is currently on sabbatical in Arkansas.

My Best Friend will be released in better pet stores nation wide on Saturday.
