The hubby informed me that we will go see this when it comes out. It does look like a really good movie.

Re: The Wolfman
I believe they got the perfect actor to play the wolfman. Benicio Del Toro is one of my favorite actors.

We may be doing the same thing. It's bad news to go see a movie this big on opening weekend. It'll be packed and some people dont know how to hush during a movie. So maybe we'll go next weekend.

If people don't hush, kick them. Or you could be "responsible" and get the employees to kick them out. We actually enjoy kicking annoying people out. Best time to see a movie is on a Monday afternoon.

Re: The Wolfman
I may have to keep that in mind Tiff. Thanks! Are yall expecting a big turn out for this movie at your theater?
Re: The Wolfman
Not so much for Wolfman, but we are also supposed to get Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief and Valentine's Day all on that Friday. I am sure that it will turn out good. For a theater employee during a school year, 20 hours on the next schedule is quite a bit.

Here is an early review, but I always like to give a movie the benefit of a doubt.

It was pretty good, not exactly what I had expected. But I will speak no more so that I don't drop any spoiler info.

Re: The Wolfman
Well, I saw it, and I liked it.
There are many things I really enjoyed about this film. I liked the deeper explanation as to why Larry Talbot is estranged from his father. That is one of the things that you will have to discover from the movie.
The movie is a carefully crafted blend of the werewolf stories and whispers of Jekyll and Hyde. The writers pulled in Gypsy/Roma Lore, The famous case of Peter Stumpf, and the psychological allegories of the beast suborned by "civilized man" and the desire to actually let go and let the beast rule supreme.
Larry Talbot returns to late Victorian England an actor to see to the disappearance of his brother. By the time he reaches England, the body of his brother has been found and the mystery as to who done it ensues. Enter Inspector Aberline, the famous detective of the Jack the Ripper case.
This is in contrast to the 1941 film with Lon Chaney Jr. in the title role which happens in modern times (for the time period that is) and the circumstances are a little murky. The allegories are a bit different as well, as America was just in the war with Hitler and Japan and becomes a symbol of good over evil rather than a study of man's darker personal nature.
Look closely and you will see nods to the 41 classic, such as the poem: Even a man who is good at heart and says his prayers by night, may become a wolf when the wolfbane bloom and the autumn moon is bright. Look also at the silver dog headed cane, the same as featured in the 41 film.
Some classical purists will scoff at the tweaking of the tale, but it actually filled in the gaps of the earlier film. It will likely go unappreciated now, but in time, this film will be as invaluable a part of the movie monster lore as American Werewolf in London and Wolfen to the celluloid werewolf mystique.
Wonderfully photographed and excellently played by the entire cast.
