* SPOILERS* S3 E5 Trouble

The casting call for True Blood episode 3.05, titled “Trouble”, just went out to the agencies. Let’s see what scoop we can glean from the new characters being cast.

We’re getting a flashback to 900 A.D. where we’ll meet Eric’s father, Ulfrick, and mother, Astrid. Ulfrick is described as in his 40s to 50s, warm but battle scarred. He’s a Swedish Viking king who wants Eric to learn responsibility and to behave as a prince should, causing some tension in their otherwise solid father-son relationship. Astrid is in her 30s, also described as warm, and has a new baby.

Back in the present, we’ll meet Colonel John Flood, a man in his 50s to 60s, dresses like a golfer, has a military-style haircut, and is a Wolf Pack Leader. Sookie and Alcide are surprised at how he responds to recent events.

We’ll also meet Summer, a super positive, nice girl in her 20s who goes to church with Hoyt. She’s attracted to him in a chaste way, which should be an interesting change from Jessica.

Updated 02.05.10: Spoiler TV noticed an additional casting call for this episode, which ought to have a lot of Truebies checking their schedules for availability. The role is for a Buxom Swedish Servant Girl in her 20s. She doesn’t have any lines, but is caught, topless, with Eric in a flashback to 900 A.D.

What was it that Eric remarked "Where ever I am, there will be women."

Aslinn, don't you enjoy saying "Gracious Plenty"?

You know, I just have these really gracious plenty feelings about certain words. Some words leave me a little...meh...like pink spandex...while other words are just plenty gracious plenty. They just get across to the reader just how plenty gracious really is, or how gracious the word plenty is. And then, when you see the words together, you get a plethora of what the words gracious and the words plenty really mean. I mean, they mean almost anything. If you look up the word plenty in the dictionary, it means to have an abundance of, a fecundity or large endowment of that which is in stock. Gracious of course comes form the Latin, gracia, which means full or blessed or willing to be blessed or to be the bestower of grace. And grace is all good things. So if you translated the phrase gracious plenty, it just means BIG GOODNESS..which we can all use...don't you think?

oh wow, duh! I am running really slow today! I think I mixed the books and shows, but still the maker is male. Well, I am just stumped then.

And Big Goodness may just catch on!

That happens sometimes chere...I think my "Part-Timer's" disease is turning into "All-the-Timer's disease".

But this is one of the nice things about the show, we are seeing more back story. In the books, we just recently got Eric's backstory and Charlaine neglected to give us Bill's back story. So it is very nice that we are going to see more of both and get to know our Vampires a little better.

I wonder if they will do Pam's, because I always loved that in the book, about Pam's being made and everything.

I would love to see Pam's back story. I bet she was a pain in Eric's sweet tushy back then!

I bet they had a heck of a romance going on too back in the day!

Pam's story was my favorite I think. Maybe it was just the time period or the fact that she once loved like a teenager or maybe it is because I am currently reading that book and it is fresh in my mind. Bill had a story, but it was never discussed. It was more of an assumed background given in bits and pieces. I think the next book will have an explanation though and that could be what brings them back to each other...
