* SPOILERS* S3 E5 Trouble

The thing that I liked about the story of Pam's being made was how she described it. She said she had had an assignation with a lover and Eric caught her on her way home and turned her and then brought her back to her house and put her in her bed. Now, to get this, you have to see Eric as he was in the book, with all that hair, dressed in the clothes of the time.

Then she said that she was buried and Eric dug her out of the grave and held her on his lap and explained to her what he had done to her. Which is very considerate, in my book. And then she tells Sookie that she was not angry with Eric, she wanted to have sex with him and they did many times, but later, she began to find her own sense of sexuality and she saw her becoming Vampire as a real liberation for her. And I think Kristen really plays that sense of liberation extremely well.

That is one of the reasons I think I like Pam so well and want to see more of her. Besides the comedic aspect of it, I am intrigued by her total acceptance of her Vampire self. She is a lot like Lestat, she has this brutal but elegant sense of self pride in her status as Vampire. Eric simply is what he is, no bones about it. Bill doesn't love his Vampirism, in fact he has a lot of self loathing. But Pam loves her Vampirism, and she is very proud, very proactive. In the books she really displays a sense of "racial" pride or identity pride, like Kenya has in the book and Lafayette in the show as a gay character. Very intriguing.

I would love to see Pam's backstory. I could go all year without seeing the GP.

Well, we've been promised more of Pam this season, "backstory" or not. I just love that character, and it would be nice to see her in the early days with Eric. I really hope AB develops her more. I still think Eric should let her turn Lafayette. Those two together would be a scream! Not together in a romantic way, but maker and child.

He would certainly be a trial to her and giver her a run for her money I bet. It would be fun to see.

Oh wow it definitly seems more Eric heavy this season. yay

It sounds like we are going to see flashbacks of Eric's past in this one. Can't wait!

We now know who’s been cast as Eric’s mama and the winner was Annica Bejhed. We don’t know much about the character but this little tidbit:

ASTRID: In her 30’s, warm, a Swedish Viking queen with a new baby, she is Eric’s mother, seen in a flashback to 900 AD…Actress must speak some Swedish. GUEST STAR

She’ll appear in the 5th episode “Trouble” along with Eric’s daddy, Ulfick, played by Hans Tester.
