*SPOILERS* S3 E3 It Hurts Me Too

Alcide Herveaux is described as a good looking, rough looking but articulate and basically decent man is not what he seems. He’s a heroic type and he and Sookie get along really well with the possibility of sparks flying between the two. That’s a pretty vague physical description “good looking, rough looking”, which certainly expands the possibilities for casting. Expect an announcement on this role before Christmas.

Other characters being cast for this episode include Hollis, an African-American male in his 40s who is a bouncer at a bar. He’s a nice guy who knows Alcide well (though he’s suspicious of Alcide’s guest, Sookie). When Alcide is getting the crap beaten out of him, Hollis jumps to his defense. He also delivers some bad news to Alcide about his fiancee, Debbie Pelt. Also at the bar is a man named Turk who taunts Sookie. Probably not a wise move.

Focusing on other storylines for a moment, they’re casting a Pastor to preside over Eggs’ funeral and give a eulogy. They’re also casting Dr. Robideaux, a kindly, old-school gynecologist/obstetrician examines Arlene with an ultrasound.

Arlene and an ultrasound? Another teacup human in the mix?

Hmmmm......does this mean Terry is going to be a first time dad?

Oh a little TB baby. I knew some one was going to end up pregnant as a reprecussion from last season and all the hooking up at Maryanne's fun parties. I just wonder who is kicking Alcide's booty?

I like the actor that was cast as Alcide. He is physically what I would anticipate. I am curious to see his chemistry with Anna.

Arlene pregnant? Interesting. It can't be that simple. I don't see that ending happily ever after.

Maybe Terry will have a power in his background, which would be awesome for a baby. Loved the news, thanks Aslinn!

I agree Fairy. Arelne being pregnant just doesn't seem like it can end well. Or maybe her being pregnant and having a baby could be the reason why she would start to dislike Sookie and hate the Vampires more then she already does. Maybe this baby will be what pushes her to join the FOTS?

I think this could be it. I mean, she is eaten up with guilt that she was out of her gourd and her kids had to be taken care of by Sam, and then by Vampires (in a round about way) Now she is pregnant and she feels like she has to do something to make sure what happened to the first two kids never happens to the baby...so this would lead her to make some pretty radical decisions...

I agree with others who say this pregnancy will be her breaking point. She seemed really upset after Maryann's magic orgies and such and now the Fellowship should look really appealing. Plus, her vampire distaste has always been apparent.

Arlene preggo. I wonder if being under the influence of the Maenad will have any affect on the baby. I hope they don't try and connect or resurrect Maryann that way. That could be way out of left field, but hey look at lat season.

I am going to bet that either Arlene decides to abort the baby or miscarries and that causes all sorts of guilt and issues for Arlene. A pregnant Arlene kind of puts her out of the story for a while in a way, since I can't see her 9 months pregnant and slinging beer in Merlottes. An altercation involving the vampires that causes her to lose the baby would be enough to set her off I imagine tho.

I get what you are saying Aolani, but maybe the goal is to put Arlene out of the story for a little while. I think they will have a lot of focus on Sooki/Bill/Eric and then there is Tara and I bet there will be a lot of Jason and Alcide and the pack come in. So, with all of that, I feel that maybe the pregnancy could possibly be a move to push Arlene aside for the season.

Just a thought.

Remember Mary Ann's wedding scene when she is willing to sacrifice Sam? Remember the egg in the tree? That egg, she explained, was a symbol of fertility. And now Arlene's pregnant? That so can't mean anything good.

I'm looking foward to seeing Jason with Andy and Bud this season, should be some good lines here!

I can't watch it! Not with 36 mins left to show time! lol I am very excited about this episode, though. I sense the start of a kickoff here to a massively, awesome season.
