I love the Merry Gentry series. More so, than Anita, sometimes. At least she doesn't have the hang-ups that Anita has!

Lover Revealed - J.R. Ward
I am flying through these books so fast that the cashier at the bookstore now knows me. She said she started the first book because she was curious as to why I was reading them so fast.

Re: What are you reading?
Since my last visit, I've read:
The Vampire Huntress series by LA Banks. - This author is not playing around!! I love her insight into women and men and relationships and her point-of-view and writing in general. Man, I haven't cried or contemplated this much during a paranormal romance in I-don't-know-how-long. Although, I have to say it took me some time to get used to the vernacular. Normally, when I read a new series and the story arc and the plot and character development are just kinda so-so, I tend to "run" thru the story and skip to the "good" parts (if ya know whatta mean). But with this, I actually found myself skimming the sex scenes to get back to the ACTION! Not that the sex scenes weren't great, but I wanted to know what happens next!
Read the new Sookie book, of course - I'm gonna re-read it before I comment on it. My initial reaction is that it just wasn't "enough". I don't know how to explain it.
Got the new BDBH "Lover Mine" but have been putting off reading it cuz I was embroiled in the Vampire Huntress series.
Got "Flirt" in the Anita Blake series, but again, haven't started it yet for the same reason.
Have started the 1st book in the "Hollows" series by Kim Harrison -- really liked the first book so I think I'll forge ahead with the rest of the series.
OH YA! I almost forgot... I read the Vampire Diaries series... which aside from the Twilight series, I don't typically read the "Young Adult" genre... but I have to say I reeeeeally liked !! Can't wait till the next. I actually liked it a LOT better than the series, however I am well and truly addicted now to the new series.
Oh well, I feel like I'm forgetting something... but I'll remember later. Missed y'all!! Toodles!

Re: What are you reading?
Yay Val, you're back on!! I'm gonna take a hint and try the Vampire Huntress series. I've been looking for something new to ahem - sink my teeth into.
Let me know what you thought about Flirt. I'm not going to say anything about it yet. I think I'll start a new Anita thread here as Bullet is coming out on June 1st.
And the Hollows by Kim Harrison is really, really good. The characters are just so loveable!

I'm a little over half-way through the Dark Hunter Series by Sherrilyn Kenyon. Currently, I'm on The Dream Hunter". So far, so good. Like any series, some books leave me "meh" and others I LOVE! Overall, worth the read!
