So far I like it...she has put a neat twist on vampires that I am liking. If you have a droid phone there is a reader app Laputa and they have a lot of series for free....including the Dark series.

Just starting Faefever...I'm hooked on the series now LOL
I'm thinking my next series is going to be Already Dead (Joe Pitt Series #1) by Charlie Huston, anyone checked that out yet?

Re: What are you reading?
Charlie Huston wrote The Mystic Arts of Erasing All Signs of Death, which AB is filming a pilot for HBO based on that book. I came across this series while looking up more info on that book. I figure if AB is a fan its worth a try!

Synopsis from B&N
- Spoiler:
- Those stories you hear? The ones about things that only come out at night? Things that feed on blood, feed on us? Got news for you: they’re true. Only it’s not like the movies or old man Stoker’s storybook. It’s worse. Especially if you happen to be one of them. Just ask Joe Pitt.
There’s a shambler on the loose. Some fool who got himself infected with a flesh-eating bacteria is lurching around, trying to munch on folks’ brains. Joe hates shamblers, but he’s still the one who has to deal with them. That’s just the kind of life he has. Except afterlife might be better word.
From the Battery to the Bronx, and from river to river, Manhattan is crawling with Vampyres. Joe is one of them, and he’s not happy about it. Yeah, he gets to be stronger and faster than you, and he’s tough as nails and hard to kill. But spending his nights trying to score a pint of blood to feed the Vyrus that’s eating at him isn’t his idea of a good time. And Joe doesn’t make it any easier on himself. Going his own way, refusing to ally with the Clans that run the undead underside of Manhattan–it ain’t easy. It’s worse once he gets mixed up with the Coalition–the city’s most powerful Clan–and finds himself searching for a poor little rich girl who’s gone missing in Alphabet City.
Now the Coalition and the girl’s high-society parents are breathing down his neck, anarchist Vampyres are pushing him around, and a crazy Vampyre cult is stalking him. No time to complain, though. Got to find that girl and kill that shambler before the whip comes down. . . and before the sun comes up.

I read "Of Mice and Men" for Jason. Apparently, the book inspired the Grateful Dead song "Jack Straw" and Jason was trying to figure out some lines. He hates to read, so he begged me to. I'm glad he did! It is a fantastic novel!!

LKH called it a novella. I really didn't like it. The whole time that I'm reading it, I'm like "what's the point"? I'm glad I only spent $10 for it on my Kindle. Bullet is much better!

I often find Merry mor refreshing than Anita. She has fewer hang-ups that seem to plague Anita.

I do love Merry. She definitely gets over her hang-ups faster than Anita. I really, really like the Merry series.
But I have to say, I'm pacing the floor for the next in the Fever series. I have to know... was it HIM? O, gosh don't let it be HIM! and that's all I'm gonna say.
And for those reading the Hunter series... if you're only reading the Dream Hunter series, you're missing out. The Dark Hunter series is AMAZING. I would read them all over again just to get to Acheron's story. It is incredibly heart-breaking and satisfying all at the same time.
And about those starting the Carpathian series... I loved the first few books. But she definitely has a formula and stick rigidly to it throughout the series. So if you've read one, you've just about read them all. Does that mean I don't shell out the $$ when they come out Nope. I still buy them. :)

I'm with you Val... can't wait for the next Fever book! I'll be so sad if its HIM
Currently I'm on book 5 in the Riley Jenson Guardian series by Keri Arthur, has anyone else read these books? Along with book three in the Chronicles of the Necromancer series by Gail Martin.

Re: What are you reading?
Yes!! I agree - read the entire Dark-Hunter series in order! Archeron's story is just amazing. What did you think of the newest one - No Mercy? I really liked it, although it wasn't my favorite.
I cannot wait until the newest Fever. Is it HIM? Argh, don't know, just counting the seconds until we can find out!!
I was thinking of starting the Carpathians soon... thanks for the recommendation, Val!

Re: What are you reading?
OK. I want to start the Carpathian series by Christine Feehan. The first novel, "Dark Prince" is the only one not available on Kindle!! AARRGH. So, I go online to try and buy a copy. Nope. No-one has a copy of this novel for sale!
I may actually have to visit the library for this one.
That leaves me with one question - if I read the 2nd novel before I can get my hands on the first, will it throw me off too much?

Thanks, Aslinn!! I just signed up!! I'll have to wait until tonight when I'm home to download the file. I'm trying to figure out how to transfer PDF files to my Kindle.
**UPDATE** It worked!! Thank you! Although reading PDF files is a bit of a PITA on the Kindle. Transferring the files over was really easy too.

Re: What are you reading?
I just finished "The Thirteenth Tale" by Diane Setterfield and it was pretty good! I would definitely suggest it, it has quite a few twists. A bit predictable in some parts, but overall it was a good read.
